What is an Application?
An application is a formal way to place a request in front of any authority which in this case is the principal. It can be written for various reasons such as:
- Sick leave
- Fee concession
- Change of section
- Admission-related queries and concerns
- A transfer certificate
- Changing the stream of study
Points to Remember
An application to the principal is written for many reasons, and it must be in the format of the formal letter. It should be ensured that all the necessary information is provided. This includes the receiver’s address, date, subject, the reason for the request, a polite salutation, the body of the letter referring to the application’s purpose, a closing remark and signature. All the components must be aligned to the left-hand side margin. The following pointers can help in drafting a well-written and impactful application:
- Clearly state your reason for writing the application. Along with this, add your exact requirement. Do remember to enclose necessary documents like – medical certificates or any other proof (as required).
- Do not write a very long application. Try to keep it short and concise.
