Description

In the early 1800s, Oliver Twist is born in an English workhouse. His mother dies shortly after his birth, and Oliver is raised in harsh conditions, and is moved from one workhouse to another. Finally, he runs away to the crime-filled streets of London. There, Oliver meets a boy called the Artful Dodger, who takes him to Fagin, the leader of a gang of thieves. Fagin welcomes Oliver and persuades him to join his boys. Oliver likes Fagin and the boys, but is unaware of the crimes they commit daily. When Oliver joins some boys as they ‘work’ the streets, he finally understands what they do for a living. Oliver escapes to the luxuries of upper-class society and is offered a chance to join it. But will Fagin and his boys allow him to leave their world? Oliver soon finds himself in a dangerous fight for his existence, torn between good and evil. How will he survive?
