Description

This is the true story of the 50-year relationship between black boxing champion, Joe Louis and German boxer Max Schmeling. In the 1930s, the two boxers fight terrible battles, each determined to destroy the other. They fight private battles, too. Louis faces a sea of white prejudice, and Schmeling faces sceptics who believe his fighting days are over. After the Second World War, Louis’ life deteriorates and he soon finds himself in need of a good friend. Surprisingly, it is his old enemy, Schmeling, who comes to his assistance, and an unforgettable friendship is born.
